Jennifer Discovers Her
Potential at ForKids
Last year, Jennifer was on the wrong path headed nowhere fast. She was repeating the 9th grade for the third time and was suspended from school for fighting. To make matters worse, her classmate pressed charges. With her failing grades and court charges of assault and battery, Jennifer felt hopeless.
In February 2010, Jennifer and her mother were homeless before arriving at ForKids. In the following months, Jennifer received the tutoring and care she needed. When Jennifer’s case manager suggested the Commonwealth Challenge, a military-based program for at-risk youth, Jennifer found the structure and motivation that she desperately wanted and needed.
Today, Jennifer is a motivated 18-year-old. She has been promoted to Cadet in the program and has plans to join the Navy and attend college.
At the end of her training, Jennifer asked her mother to thank ForKids for all they did to help her “make a change in her life.” Her hope and her future changed because of ForKids and your support.

ForKids and six other charities will be teaming up with DOMA Technologies for DOMA's 2nd Annual Charity Challenge. The DOMA tent will be located near the 17th street stage but volunteers will be promoting the event throughout the boardwalk! Prizes consist of ipads, a Harley Davidson, a celebrity-signed jacket, ipods and more! Support your community and participate in the DOMA Charity Challenge!
